April’17 Wrap Up

Just like the previous month this month also turned out to be a great reading month. This month my sole target was to complete unfinished series.I read a total of 14 books. Yeah freaking 10 books don’t ask me how I just was so into reading this month. Lets get on with the April Wrap Up.

 Read this month:

Grey by E.L.James

Series: Fifty Shades of Grey #4

Genres: New Adult, Romance, Erotica

Rating: 3/5

Well this is better than FSOG. I found Grey point of view way interesting. Gets into Grey head literally. When I read the books, even with the crazy amount of his issues, I always thought of Christian as sexy, confident and powerful. But here he sounds so lost and very clingy . He questions himself so much that you will start to think that he’s so in-confident. E. L. James managed to turn the powerful mogul into a confused person. That’s what i didn’t like in it.

Royally Screwed by Emma Chase

Series: Royally #1

Genres: Romance, Contemporary, New Adult

Rating: 3.5/5

This was a very breezy read. It is a romantic fairytale come to life! It was entertaining, sexy and fun read. Royally Screwed is a modern day rags-to-riches romance with a sexy Prince.
This a new adult genre so do expect intimate scenes in it.

Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas

Series: Throne of Glass #1

Genres: Fantasy,Fiction, Young Adult

Rating: 4.5/5

Firstly the concept of female assassin is simply intriguing.Sarah J Maas creates a fantasy world which pulls you in it at the very start. This is my second Maas Series. What a great way to start it.So many things happen in the very start that your just addicted to it. Coming to characters Celaena Sardothien as the kick ass assassin, the charming Prince Dorian and The Captain of the Guard Choal Westfall is in charge of Celaena training they are the heart of the book.Even the secondary characters are given equal importance. Plot wise there is a lot going on. Everything weaves together into this incredibly captivating story, with an action filled ending, having plenty of mystery, magic, humor and romance.

United by Melissa Landers

Series: Alienated #3

Genres: Science Fiction ,Romance, Young Adult

Rating: 3/5

I read Alienated and Invaded ages ago. This isn’t one of the best trilogies of all time, but I am glad I read this. I Cara is one kick ass female protagonist and her chemistry with Aelyx is just so great to read after after being apart for so long in Invaded.
It was as enjoyable read but not the best like its predecessors. Talking about the story it was little bit immature for my taste. I mean how convenient things were for Cara and Alelyx. How could they have soo much power that even the govt authorities couldn’t do anything. (*Seriously*)
This all seemed fun in first two books but i guess I’ve grown up since it read invaded that it felt a little cheesy.

Guarded by Kayla White

Genres: Romance, New Adult

Rating: 3/5

I received this ARC copy of this book from the Author for an honest review.
This is the first book I have read by this Kayla White and I liked it a lot. It was quite a breezy summer read.
A rich spoiled woman who is desperately seeking attention. Her Father is the one person she expects to give her attention but he doesn’t seem to have the time for her. Parker is hired to be her guardian. He falls in love with her, and they have their happily ever after.
The story line between Parker and Hannah was well written. The writing was super easy to go through. I finished reading it in a single sitting.
I can’t wait to read her next book.

The Score by Elle Kennedy

Genres: Romance, New Adult

Rating: 3/5

Elle Kennedy can definitely do hot and sexy! If you’re in for some sweet, sexy and heartfelt moments, then definitely pick up The Score ASAP. The build up to Allie and Dean was nicely done. Even their relationships with other characters were also good. However i was somehow left little underwhelmed as nothing great happened even their separation and patch up was easy breezy. Over all a its a quick summer read.

Obsessed by R.J.Lewis

Genres: Romance, New Adult

Rating: 2/5

It started off as a promising one Forbidden Romance I so my genre. But this one was a downright disappointment there was no falling in love part between Elise and Aston. Apart from that the dad’s reaction to them being in relationship was just so strange and weird. I expected soo much more out of this one.

Walking Disaster by Jamie McGuire

Genres: Romance, New Adult

Rating: 3.5/5

Its a story of bad boy alpha male turning good for his lady love. Confession time i didn’t know this was a companion novel to Beautiful Disaster. Travis and Abby have this crazy, consuming and dysfunctional relationship that has a very likable quality.and you always end up rooting for them. This was a truly a great addictive read.

Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff

Genres: Romance, New Adult

Rating: 4.5/5

OMG This is one of the most differently styled stories i ever read. The way it was written in all transcripts, dossiers and the IM conversations between characters. It deserves a five star but i couldn’t binge read it so that hampered my reading experience. It give you very high tech, space titanic vibes.I loved the IMs between Kady and Esra. The entire part of AIDAN tricking Kady to rescue him was mind boggling. I was soo convinced that this was the tragic love story but no they are alive to tell their tale. AMAZING.

Crown of Midnight by Sarah J Maas

Series: Throne of Glass #2

Genres: Fantasy,Fiction, Young Adult

Rating: 4.5/5

Wow! This was an fantastic sequel. I liked it but I still prefer the 1st one more. The first half was quite slow in pace and a bit distracted, but the second half was simply wow and the end MIND BLOWN. I am still team Dorian. Why Caelena are you so mean to Dorian? Sarah has created an incredible world. I can’t even do it justice by trying to explain it here. She knows how to keep the reader involved and immersed completely into the story.

Fallen Too Far by Abbi GlinesAbbi Glines- Fallen Too Far

Series: Rosemary Beach #1

Genres: Romance, Contemporary, New Adult

Rating: 4/5

Fallen Too Far was an addictive read!!!! Read the entire book in one sitting. All the relationships not just Rush and Blaire but Blaire and Bethy, Blaire and Woods was carved out soo well. It was a absolute joy to read this one.

Never Too Far by Abbi GlinesAbbi Glines- Never Too Far

Series: Rosemary Beach #2

Genres: Romance, Contemporary, New Adult

Rating: 3.5/5

Never Too Far was fun as well as frustrating at the same time. Rush frustrated me in this one. Things seemed very rushed, and the ending well just say the abrupt ending just left me little disappointed. I hate Nan soo much seriously.

Forever Too Far by Abbi GlinesAbbi Glines- Forever Too Far

Series: Rosemary Beach #3

Genres: Romance, Contemporary, New Adult

Rating: 4/5

I could have given more stars but somehow this book was more about Rush and Nan. It was Rush need to give into Nan manipulation that frustrated me. What a big screwed up family this was.Leaving this aside, this book is a wonderful conclusion to Rush and Blaire’s beautiful and emotional story. Their own much deserved happily ever after.

Rush Too Far by Abbi GlinesAbbi Glines- Rush Too Far

Series: Rosemary Beach #4

Genres: Romance, Contemporary, New Adult

Rating: 3.5/5

Simply read this because i liked Fallen too Far far too much. Reading through Rush was fun. He was a bad ass brat and turned into i possessive lover was just awesome too read.

This month I did start reading New Adult books. The best reads this month had to be Throne of Glass ,Walking Disaster, Fallen Too Far series and Illuminae. So looking forward to completing all these series.
